18 seems to be a very common birthday for our families. Kip was born on October 18, his sister, Crystal, on August 18, and our nephew, Tejaun, on April 18. My great-grandfather was born on the 18th and my Papa was born on January 18. Apparently our baby girl wanted to be like everyone else and have her birthday on the 18th. At 12:15 a.m. miss Raelyn Jean Good was born. I will never forget what it felt like to see her for the first time, she was wide awake looking right back at me and held onto my finger as tight as she could. I will also never forget looking at Kip and seeing how happy he was to see his baby girl. I wasn't crying until I looked at him! When he held Raelyn she looked right in his eyes like she was telling him a story. May 18, 2013 will forever be one of the best days of my life!
Raelyn weighed 7 lbs. 14 oz. and was 20 1/2" long. Kip went to the waiting room to tell my dad, Stephanie, Gerald, and Sylvia the good news and could barely talk (they thought something went wrong but he was just so overwhelmed that he couldn't get the words out). Once she got cleaned up everyone was able to hold her and we got moved into our room. Mom went to the nursery and took pictures of Raelyn's first bath and Kip and I snacked on a turkey sandwich (not one of my favorite things but it was so good after eating nothing but Jello all day).
