Maternity Pictures

I went back and forth on whether I wanted maternity pictures taken or not. At first I thought that I would splurge and pay someone to take some pictures for me because I didn't pay anyone to do my bridal portraits or wedding photos (thanks Jessica!). The more I thought about it and looked at prices the more I realized that it wasn't worth $200-$300 for me to have pictures of myself with a big belly...what was I really going to do with them anyway. So I decided to fix my hair and makeup and take a few of myself just to document and have a few good pictures of me pregnant in something other than a white tank top and black stretch pants. We had a beautiful day here on Saturday, March 9 so I thought it would be a good day to take the pictures. I got dressed up and headed out into the woods beside our house with my tripod and camera. The camera has a "smart portrait" setting that is supposed to detect your smile and snap photos. Sometimes the setting works and sometimes it does. I guess the sunlight messed it up that day because I was having no luck at all.

So, what do I do...call my mom of course! She said she would come over and take some pictures of me. We ended up taking pictures for hours in several different outfits. I have more than 300 pictures but was able to narrow it down to about 50 that I really liked. I honestly thought we would find 10-15 pictures we liked and that would be it. I am so happy with how they turned out. Mom did a great job (with a little bit of coaching) :). Here are a few of my favorites.
